Franco Martin’s first words after AmaZulu FC’s departure
Coach Pablo Franco Martin has spoken for the first time following his departure at KZN side AmaZulu FC two days ago.
The Spanish mentor was shown the exit door at Usuthu alongside his assistant coach, Aitor Van Den Brule. This comes after AmaZulu suffered three losses in a row in the new Betway Premiership season.
As a result, the KwaZulu-Natal outfit is placed at the bottom of the log standings with nothing to show for it after three games.
Overall, the former Simba SC coach was in charge of 39 matches during his tenure at AmaZulu, winning 12, drawing 12, and losing 15 in the process.
WHAT DID PABLO FRANCO MARTIN SAY AFTER AMAZULU FC’S DEPARTURE?
In a heartwarming open letter to his former employees, Martin expressed his gratitude and appreciation for his time at the club.
“After nearly a year and a half of intense work, dedication, and enjoyment in the day-to-day process of leading AmaZulu FC, I would first like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the club and the Zungu family for their trust and support,” Martin wrote in his official statement.
“A special thanks to the staff for their professionalism and commitment, to the players for their effort and affection, to all the club’s employees for their invaluable work every day.
“And to the fans, because your support, wherever we travelled, has meant the world. We have shared unforgettable moments, and I am proud to have contributed to the club’s growth and leave a legacy in such a unique region and wonderful country.”
‘THE PSL WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART,’ SAYS PABLO FRANCO MARTIN
Martin further admitted that the SA football top-flight will always hold a special place in his heart.
“The Premier Soccer League will always hold a special place in my heart. It is now time to embrace new challenges and embark on new adventures,” he added.
“From now on, there will always be another member of the Usuthu family wherever I am.”
