Ramagalela’s take on Kapinga’s move to Sekhukhune
Former PSL star Rodney Ramagalela has shared his thoughts on the recent transfer of talented attacker Lesedi Kapinga to ambitious side Sekhukhune United.
Ramagalela and Kapinga are both from the Limpopo province, and Ramagalela refers to Kapinga as his ‘homeboy’.
The duo has something in common: Ramagalela and Kapinga both played for the Motsepe Foundation Championship side of Black Leopards before.
The talented midfielder, Kapinga, recently found a new home at Babina Noko, joining the Betway Premiership outfit as a free agent.
Kapinga parted ways with Soweto giants Orlando Pirates on a mutual agreement just after one season [2023/24 season]. This was due to a lack of minutes due to stiff competition in the team. He made appearances 13 assists and grabbed an assist.
Kapinga was also released by Tshwane giants Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the 2023/24 PSL season after struggling for game time. At Sundowns, he spent three seasons [from 2020/21 up to the 2022/23 campaign].
RODNEY RAMAGALELA COMMENTS ON LESEDI KAPINGA’S TRANSFER TO SEKHUKHUNE UNITED
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Black Leopards striker believes the Sekhukhune move is good for Kapinga. He hopes that at Sekhukhune Kapinga will get some playing time under coach Lehlohonolo Seema.
“Personally, for me, that’s a great move for him. I call him my ‘homeboy’ because we both come from the same province,” Ramagalela told FARPost.
“I hope he will get a fair chance to play there; he has a good coach there in Seema, who is a great one. He’s still a good player, and with so many seasons to play, he will add good value to the team.
“Most importantly, I think the move [to Sekhukhune] will help him to find himself back to the guy we know. By that, I mean his confidence, and if he gets his confidence [back], he will be alright and regain his form.
