Owen Da Gama starts Vondwe tenure with defeat in Motsepe League
Veteran coach Owen Da Gama’s tenure at Vondwe XI Bullets got off to a disappointing start with a 1-0 loss to Munaca FC in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League. Last month, Da Gama was appointed to lead the SAFA Limpopo third-tier team in their pursuit of the league title given his extensive experience.
Munaca, under ex-Baroka FC coach Sello Chokoe, dominated the game and utilised their home-field advantage to secure a win in their first match of the season in Stream A. Meanwhile, Sunrise FC led by former Mamelodi Sundowns duo of Tebogo Lagerman and Punch Masenamela got off to a good start with a 1-0 win over Eleven Fast Tigers in Stream B.
