What Polokwane City coach makes of Sammy Seabi’s progress
Polokwane City FC coach Phuti Mohafe has shared his assessment regarding the progress of the club’s returning player Sammy Seabi.
Seabi rejoined the Rise and Shine in October this year after agreeing to part ways with the SA football top-flight defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 30-year-old midfielder is well-acquainted with PLK City, having played for the Limpopo team from 2015 to 2019, before departing the club to join Bafana Ba Style.
Since his return to PLK City, Seabi has featured in four matches across all competitions.
WHAT PHUTI MOHAFE SAID ABOUT SAMMY SEABI’S PROGRESS
Mohafe conveyed his contentment with the progress Seabi has achieved so far, noting that he is a crucial member of the team.
The PLK City coach continued by expressing his belief that Seabi will reach his full potential soon.
“So far, he is gelling well because when you check, he played about 20 minutes in this game; in the previous game, he played 30 minutes, and in the other one, he played almost 45 minutes,” said Mohafe.
“So, he is gradually coming into the first team. He featured in the match that we played against Royal AM, and we won with him finishing the match.
“It’s a good thing for him. All the players we have are important to us, considering that we don’t have a big squad. So, the rotation is working for us, and I think he is coming along well.”
Rise and Shine find themselves in position five on the Betway Premiership table with 14 points after nine outings.
PLK City will now shift their focus to their next home league game against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, 8 December 2024.
The showdown will take place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. The encounter will kick off at 15:30.
