Fadlu Davids sounds warning bells for Simba SC
Despite enjoying a positive spell in Tanzania, Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has issued a warning, highlighting what is lacking in the squad.
Davids linked with the Tanzanian powerhouse ahead of the 2024/25 campaign after parting ways with Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, where he served as an assistant coach to former Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer.
With Simba, the former Pirates co-coach – Davids hit the ground running following great results in the Tanzanian Premier League. After 11 matches played, the team is second on the log standings with 28 points.
Simba’s impressive form have seen them register nine victories, one draw and one defeat.
On the continental stage, Simba are in the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup. After two matches played, they are third in Group A with three points.
FADLU DAVIDS SAYS SIMBA PLAYERS ARE LACKING EXPERIENCE
The 43-year-old has highlighted the need for more experience in the Simba SC squad. He believes that the team’s young players sometimes make crucial mistakes due to a lack of experience, which can cost them in important matches.
In the Simba team, there are talented players who perform to the best of their abilities. This includes the likes of Moussa Camara, Fabrice Ngoma and Abdulrazack Hamza.
Following their 2-1 away defeat in the Champions League to CS Constantine despite scoring first on Sunday, Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids attributed the loss to a lack of experience within his squad.
“In a match, one player is out injured and you are down to 10-man, this is where you need the experience to slow the game down, and wait until you get all the 11 players,” said Davids.
“I take this down not to the incompetence of our players, but the inexperience of our players. Unfortunately, we have inexperienced players who make mistakes, and it costs you.
“The main thing for our players is to learn from these mistakes, to grow from it and learn from it.”
