Durban City secure services of Betway Premiership striker
In their chase for promotion to the SA elite league, Motsepe Foundation Championship side Durban City FC is leaving no stone unturned after securing the services of striker Menzi Ndwandwe.
Ndwandwe joins Durban City, formerly known as Maritzburg United, from Betway Premiership outfit Magesi FC.
FARPost has been reliably informed that the 27-year-old has penned a six-month loan deal with the Motsepe Foundation Championship log leaders – Durban City.
The former Chippa United and TS Galaxy striker struggled for game time at Magesi, who are in their first season in the Premiership. He has only featured in three games in all competitions, including in the Carling Knockout Cup, a competition Dikwena tsa Meetse won after surprisingly beating Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.
One of the three games Ndwandwe played in was the Carling Cup, where Magesi shocked Orlando Pirates in front of their home supporters, winning 3-2 in the Round of 16.
However, he has only seen 47 minutes of action, coming from the bench in all the matches, a situation that largely influenced the loan move to Durban City.

At Durban City, Ndwandwe will look to hit the ground running and help the team extend their lead at the top and eventually win the second-tier league to gain automatic promotion to the Premiership.
The KZN side is one point ahead of second-place JDR Stars after 16 games with nine wins, four draws and three defeats.
Ndwandwe is an experienced striker who has played over 40 games in the SA elite league for teams such as AmaZulu FC, Bloemfontein Celtic, and Royal AM.
His statistics do not accurately show his talent and ability, as he has only found the back of the net three times with two assists to his name.
He is line to make his Durban City debut in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 against ABC Motsepe League side Lerumo Lions FC at Olympia Stadium in Rustenburg on Saturday.
