Ex-Free State Stars and Sundowns winger Luyolo Nomandela spotted at Mpumalanga side
Ex-Free State Stars and Mamelodi Sundowns winger Luyolo Nomandela has been spotted at the SAFA Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League side.
The 35-year-old has resurfaced at the Mpumalanga amateur side Tiger Boys, coached by well-travelled mentor Tshepo Motsoeneng.
Nomandela is no stranger to third-tier SA football, having represented the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League African All Stars, a feeder club of Sekhukhune United, and Baberwa FC.
The veteran winger comes to Tiger Boys with extensive experience. He has Premier League and Motsepe Foundation Championship experience, and he is expected to help the club achieve a higher ranking.
Nomandela’s football career blossomed when he made his PSL debut with the now-defunct Free State Stars at the beginning of the 2012/2013 season after being promoted from the club’s developmental team, Carara Kicks.
He made headlines when he signed a four-year contract with Sundowns in the 2013/14 season. However, he made only a handful of appearances for the Chloorkop-based outfit under Pitso Mosimane’s tutelage.
The other clubs that Nomandela has turned out for include teams such as Chippa United, Cape Town City, Tornado FC, Mthatha Bucks, to mention a few.
TIGER BOYS’ STANDINGS IN THE MPUMALANGA ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE
After a 1-0 defeat to FC Sivutsa NPC on Saturday, the Motsoeneng-coached side is in ninth place in their provincial ABC Motsepe League table, with 21 points after 16 games.
In those 16 outings, the club registered six wins, three draws, and seven losses. However, Tiger Boys remain determined to push for the top spot and qualify for the ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs at the end of the season.
The club will be back in action on Wednesday, 5 February, against Witbank City Lads away from home. The match will take place at SY Mthimunye Stadium Ackverville, with the kick-off set for 15:00.
