Richards Bay FC to miss key duo in upcoming clash against Chiefs

Richards Bay FC are set to miss a key duo in their upcoming Betway Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs. The two sides are scheduled to face off on Sunday, 16 March, at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi.

Kick-off at 3:30 PM as both teams will be seeking a return to winning ways in this encounter.

Amakhosi’s most recent league outing resulted in a 0-0 draw against Cape Town City FC on Wednesday at FNB Stadium.

The stalemate at home cost them an opportunity to ascend the league standings, and they currently remain in eighth position, having accrued 29 points from 21 league matches played thus far.

Meanwhile, the Natal Rich Boyz suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Magesi FC in their previous match, a result that ended their six-match unbeaten run in the league.

The KZN club currently occupies the 12th position in the league table, having accumulated 21 points from 21 league matches.

RICHARDS BAY’S TWO KEY PLAYERS TO MISS CHIEFS CLASH

As they look to bounce back this weekend, the Ronnie Gabriel-coached side will miss defender Keegan Allan and midfielder Tlakusani Mthethwa due to suspension. Both have accumulated four yellow cards.

The two have been regular starters for the team this season since joining at the beginning of the campaign.

Mthethwa has made 22 appearances in all competitions to date, while Allan has featured in 23 matches across all competitions.

Meanwhile, the Phefeni Glamour Boys goalkeeper Brandon Petersen will also not be available for selection as he is also suspended.

Petersen was shown a red card while on the bench during the Nedbank Cup clash against Stellenbosch FC, which took place last weekend.
