Chiefs coach shares Nedbank wish: ‘We want to make history’

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has shared his wish about the Nedbank Cup, revealing that he wants to make history with the Soweto giants.
Amakhosi are set to face Mamelodi Sundowns in a mouth-watering semi-final clash of the Nedbank Cup at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday, 13 April.
In recent matches, Chiefs have been struggling to get positive results, which saw them go four matches without claiming a victory in the Betway Premiership.
The Glamour Boys have played two draws against Cape Town City FC and TS Galaxy. They also suffered back-to-back defeats against KZN teams Golden Arrows and Richards Bay FC.
After an inconsistent run, Amakhosi are eighth on the log standings table with 30 points from 24 matches.
NABI SETS SIGHT ON THE NEDBANK CUP TROPHY
With the Naturena-based side out of the league title race, they are targeting the Nedbank Cup as their only realistic chance of winning silverware this season.

Nabi says he would love to ‘write history’ and win the domestic cup with Amakhois, who have failed to win a trophy for almost a decade.
“For this game [Sundowns], I’m not thinking about myself, I think about the fans, the club and our players,” Nabi said at Nedbank headquarters in Sandton on Thursday.
“This is a big opportunity for us to write new history for the team. We have a chance, why not qualify for the final and win this cup? It’s been a long time since the club won a trophy, so as I said, it’s a big opportunity to write a new history for the team.”
Meanwhile, Chiefs have already lost to Sundowns three times this season, which is a record they would love to overturn. The Brazilians defeated Chiefs in the Carling Knockout Cup and twice in the league.
