Polokwane City coach Mohafe’s biggest worry

Polokwane City FC head coach Phuti Mohafe has revealed two factors that worry him as the 2024/25 PSL season approaches its end.

‘Rise and Shine’ have endured a difficult second round of the season as compared to the first 15 matches of the campaign.

They have only won once in the last 10 matches, while they collected eight wins in the first round. Polokwane City are also one of the lowest-scoring teams in the Betway Premiership with 18 goals so far.

Mohafe has cited the poor finishing of his players as a huge factor in their second round.

LACK OF CONVERTING SCORING CHANCES A BIG WORRY FOR POLOKWANE CITY COACH

“It’s a worrying factor. Sometimes I wish that you could come into our [training] sessions and see what we are doing in terms of finishing, going into the opposition half and creating those chances and scoring,” said Mohafe.

“But coming to the match is a different story. I really don’t know what is happening with our finishing, but we will continue working on that.”

WHAT’S ANOTHER FACTOR THAT HAS BEEN BOTHERING PHUTI MOHAFE?

Polokwane City are now sixth on the log, still with a mathematical chance of fighting for a CAF Confederation Cup spot. They spent the better part of the season in the top four but have since declined in terms of form.

“It worries us, but at this moment in time, we should be more worried about getting positive results than worried about sliding down,” he added.

“If you can get one win, then maybe things will change for the better. But I think with the attitude of the guys, we just need to work on it and see what happens in the next matches.”

Their next league match will be at home to struggling SuperSport United on Saturday.
