AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has explained why he feels their upcoming KZN derby against Golden Arrows is a “six-pointer”.
The two sides will face off in a Betway Premiership clash on Saturday, 26 April 2025, at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale at 3 PM.
Zwane believes this is a high-stakes match for them as they aim to bounce back to winning form after losing their last game to Stellenbosch FC and they want to consolidate their position in the top eight.
AmaZulu’s recent league form has been poor, with only one win in their previous six matches, alongside four losses and one draw. Zwane feels these numerous defeats have put them under unnecessary pressure.
ARTHUR ZWANE ON THE IMPORTANCE OF COLLECTING 3 POINTS AGAINST ARROWS
“These games don’t come easy, but for us, it’s more like a six-pointer,” said Zwane. “We know the importance of getting the maximum points. I think I wouldn’t want to repeat myself in terms of where we are and where we’re supposed to be.
“We had ample time to actually consolidate or put ourselves in a better position by now on the log. But dropping points in three games in a row has put us under pressure. So, we put ourselves in this situation, like we did in the past. We want to take ourselves out.
“The only opportunity we have is to make sure that we go to Hammarsdale, regardless of whether the pitch will be playable or not, the important thing is we want to grind the results.”

Zwane added that they have prepared well for the match, but expressed concern about a few injuries in the team. Nevertheless, he believes he has a capable team to come out victorious on Saturday.
ZWANE – ‘AT LEAST WE MUST SECURE TOP EIGHT SPOT’
“The preparations are going well so far, the players, the spirit in the camp [is good], and everyone is looking forward to the game,” Zwane added.
“We’ve got a few injuries here and there, but I don’t think they will make much of a negative impact.
“I think we have other players who have been waiting for the opportunity to be presented to them. So, I think they are equally good at grabbing the opportunity.
“We’re hoping we’ll get the maximum points, though it’s not going to be an easy one. We’ve played more games than anyone else, that’s why it’s key for us to get maximum points in the remaining games so that at least we secure a top eight spot.”
