AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has revealed a ‘worrying factor’ for him despite his side returning to winning ways over the weekend in the KZN Derby.
Usuthu downed Golden Arrows 1-0 through a late strike from Godspower Ighodaro at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale on Saturday afternoon.
They came to this match looking to bounce back after losing to Stellenbosch FC in their previous outing. As a result of the win, AmaZulu are now sixth in the league standings, having accumulated 33 points from 26 matches so far.
Despite securing a victory over Abafana Bes’thende, after the match, Zwane said his worrying factor is that they have been blowing hot and cold and have dropped points even when it was unnecessary to do so.

“If you look at the Chippa [United] game, we dominated from the word go, we created chances and against the run of play, we conceded two goals, the same with TS Galaxy,” said Zwane.

“So, it has always been a worrying factor that we’re blowing hot and cold.
“If you were to take these kinds of performances going forward in terms of character because sometimes you create your own luck.
“When you dig deep, when you push hard, you can do well. But now we live with regrets. We have two games left, and we’re relying on other people to lose. It’s not going to be easy [to reach the top four]. All these games aren’t going to be easy.
“It’s all up to us again, and remember, we’ve played more games than any other team. So, that alone puts us under pressure.”
The KZN side has two games remaining in the league this season. They will take on Polokwane City FC on Friday, 2 May at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Their last game of the campaign will see them host Orlando Pirates on 24 May at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
