Amidst reported interest from three Betway Premiership clubs, football agent Nimrod Mbhalati has shared his thoughts on his client, Masindi Nemtajela’s, recent call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad.
Nemtajela, who plays as a midfielder for Marumo Gallants, was named in the Bafana CHAN squad selected by coach Molefi Ntseki on Saturday, 26 April 2025.
Bafana players assembled for camp in Johannesburg on Monday, 28 April, and flew to Malawi on Thursday, 1 May 2025.
The SA men’s football national team suffered a 1-0 loss to Malawi in the first-leg of the final round of the CHAN qualifiers played on Saturday, 3 May. The showdown took place at the Republic Stadium in Lilongwe.
Bafana will return to SA on Monday, 5 May, after their disappointing defeat to Malawi.
Meanwhile, the second-leg clash between Bafana and Malawi is set to be played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday, 11 May 2025. Nemtajela will hope to make his debut as he did not feature in the first game.

WHAT MASINDI NEMTAJELA’S AGENT SAID ABOUT HIS CLIENT’S BAFANA BAFANA CALL-UP
As first reported by FARPost, the gifted midfielder has been linked with a potential move to Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch FC, and Sekhukhune United as the Betway Premiership campaign reaches its fever pitch.
Nemtajela’s agent, Mbhalati, stated that the Bafana squad selection for his client “came at the right time” as the boy has been consistent with his impressive displays for Bahlabane ba Ntwa, and it is not a surprise that he has attracted interest from several PSL clubs.
So far, Nemtajela has featured in 18 games across all competitions for the Bloemfontein-based outfit. He has been a regular since Abdeslam Ouaddou took over the coaching reins at Gallants.
“I think this call-up came at the right time. He is doing well in his career at the moment. It shows how hard the boy has been working,” Mbhalati of Nida Sports Agency told FARPost.
“I mean, everyone can see how the boy has been playing. He has always been waiting for the chance to represent his country. We are grateful to Marumo Gallants for granting him a chance to represent South Africa.
“This call-up will be a major boost to his confidence. I believe you can see how he plays on the field. The boy has a big heart and doesn’t allow opponents to bully him easily. So, I guess after this call-up, he will be a different player.”
