Marumo Gallants head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has reacted to Masindi Nemtajela’s move to Orlando Pirates for the 2025/26 PSL season.
As reported by this publication a week ago, the gifted midfielder, Nemtajela, completed his move to the Buccaneers and will be unveiled by the club ahead of the new campaign.
The Sea Robbers beat their arch-rivals, Kaizer Chiefs, to Nemtajela’s signature. Pirates have reportedly signed the player on a three-year deal with an option for another two seasons.
The Gallants star was one of the players in demand – wanted by several Betway Premiership clubs, including Sekhukhune United and Stellenbosch FC. The two clubs also showed interest in acquiring Nemtajela’s services.
Nemtajela signed for the Bloemfontein-based outfit in August 2023. In the just-ended SA elite league season, the Bafana Bafana international managed to feature in 20 matches across all competitions for Gallants. He has a goal and has two assists to his name.
His decent displays helped Gallants to finish the Betway Premiership season in 10th position with 32 points after 28 games.

WHAT MARUMO GALLANTS’ COACH SAID ABOUT MASINDI NEMTAJELA JOINING ORLANDO PIRATES
Coach Ouaddou characterised Nemtajela as an exceptional professional and is confident that he will succeed at the Soweto giants.
“You know, Masindi [Nemtajela] is a very great professional. We are happy for him and wish him good luck in his new endeavour,” Ouaddou told FARPost.
“He and his family should be proud, and we, as coaches, are proud as well. Now, he is going to leave Bloemfontein for Orlando Pirates. It’s a big club, and there will be a lot of competition.
“So, he has to be professional and keep working in order to continue improving himself,” added the Gallants coach.
