Hugo Broos: ‘Mofokeng is ready for overseas move but’…
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has once again weighed in on Relebohile Mofokeng’s possible overseas move, indicating his belief that the player is ready for such a move while simultaneously issuing a caution.
The Orlando Pirates star has been linked with a move to Europe since making his senior debut at club level in 2022. After breaking into the Betway Premiership, Mofokeng has gone on to make a name for himself with his dazzling skills and ability to score goals.
In his time with the Pirates first team so far, the 20-year-old has won a handful of domestic trophies and also played a crucial role for the Soweto giants as they reached the CAF Champions League semi-final this season.
Since his breakthrough at Pirates, Mofokeng has featured in 89 appearances across all competitions, scoring 18 goals and providing 22 assists.
Following his impressive performances in Bucs colours, the highly-rated attacker attracted interest from several European clubs. Last year, Mofokeng went on trials at English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.

The Bafana Bafana international was also linked to Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Scottish side Rangers.
Broos has admitted that Mofokeng is ready for a big transfer move. However, he has to sign with a good club where he’ll get regular game-time.
“The only advice I can give to Mofokeng is that he has to make the right choice. That’s the only advice, just like with [Mbekezeli] Mbokazi, he played about 15 games with Orlando Pirates,” said Broos.
“Going to Europe is good, but try to make the right choice because if you go to a club where you don’t have a chance to play, I think it’s better to stay one more year with Pirates.
“So that’s up to the player, his family, and his agent. I hope that his agent is looking at the future of the player and not his wallet.”
