The contracts for the two players were going to run out on 30 June, however, the club has elected to secure their continued presence within the team ahead of the 2025/26 PSL campaign
AmaZulu concluded the previous season in sixth place on the log standings, a position that successfully secured their berth within the top eight and guaranteed their participation in the MTN8 competition.

Former French Ligue 1 star, Zungu along with Ekstein will be in the Usuthu team to maintain a veteran presence in the squad.

Zungu has been with AmaZulu for six months ย having joined the club in December 2024 on a free transfer after departing Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the previous season.
He quickly became a regular feature in Zwaneโs starting eleven, providing a boost to the midfield of the Durban-based team. โBen 10โ played a pivotal part in helping Usuthu finish within the top half of the Betway Premiership standings.
He made a total of 17 appearances across all competitions, with 15 in the league and two in the Nedbank Cup. Notably, he scored one goal, which came on his debut.
Meanwhile, Ekstein has been a part of the KZN outfit since the 2021/22 season, having joined on a free transfer after his departure from the Azerbaijani club Sabail FK.
Much like Zungu, he played a major role in their top-eight finish. He featured in 25 matches, scoring three goals and also providing two assists.
Throughout his tenure at Usuthu, he’s accumulated 81 appearances, making a significant impact with seven goals and five assists.
