Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro has completed his move to Saudi Arabian club Al Adalah Sports Club following his exit from Amakhosi at the end of last season.

The experienced forward is one of several players who departed from Amakhosi at the end of the previous campaign. During his two seasons at the club, he scored nine goals and provided one assist in 45 matches.

Among those who also parted ways with the Soweto giants are Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Castillo, Yusuf Maart, Sabelo Radebe, Edmilson Dove, Tebogo Potsane, and Bongani Sam.

The former Marumo Gallants striker flew to Saudi Arabia earlier this week to finalise his transfer. Upon arriving in the Middle East, the striker underwent his medical examinations, which he passed, and signed a contract. The club is now expected to make an announcement.

The big forward was seemingly about to join Chippa United, but in a late twist, Al Adalah secured his services. The 32-year-old striker had also been linked to Tanzania’s Azam FC and several clubs across North Africa, Iraq, Hong Kong, and three teams in the Betway Premiership.

However, Chivaviro will now play his football in the second tier of Saudi Arabia. This is not his first stint outside South Africa, having played for Kosovo side Klubi Futbollistik Trepça ‘89 in 2021.

WHO ARE AL ADALAH – CHIVAVIRO’S NEW TEAM?

Al Adalah is based in Al-Ahsa, approximately 374 kilometres from Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The club competes in the Saudi First Division League. Formerly a top-tier team, they play their home matches at Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Sport City in Al-Ahsa. The facility is shared with two other city-based clubs, Hajer and Al-Jeel.

Their most notable achievement was earning promotion to the second tier during the 2000/01 season. They also finished as runners-up in the 2021/22 season. The current manager of the club is Mohamed Ayari, a Tunisian-Portuguese football manager. They kick off their 2025/26 campaign on Friday night against Al Raed before taking on Al Diriyah next Wednesday.
