Orlando Pirates winger Tshepang Moremi has made an utmost promise to the club’s fans following his heroics in the MTN8 final against Stellenbosch FC at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday night.

Moremi came on as a second-half substitute and bagged a brace that secured a 3-0 extra-time win for Pirates to clinch their fourth MTN8 title in a row. The Buccaneers and Stellenbosch played to a goalless draw in regulation time, as neither team was able to capitalise on their goal-scoring chances.

After scoring two goals, Moremi also provided an assist to Tshegofatso Mabasa, who scored the other goal that sunk the Winelands-based side.

The left-footed attacker won his first-ever professional trophy after joining Pirates in the off-season from AmaZulu FC on an undisclosed fee.

Moremi is seemingly gaining momentum in Pirates colours after scoring his first goal in the Betway Premiership against Chippa United before the FIFA international break.

Speaking after guiding the Soweto giants to their fourth MTN8 trophy, the Bafana Bafana international has told Pirates fans they’ll make them happy and more is yet to come.

“I want to thank God and the coaches for allowing me to showcase my talent. The coach [Abdeslam Ouaddou] told me to remain focused, and I’m really happy that I managed to help my team to win,” Moremi said on SuperSport TV.

“So I don’t have much to say. Before I came on, the coach told me that there’s space behind the Stellenbosch defenders, and that’s why I was able to score the two goals.”

The Sharpville-born star also raved about the influence of Oswin Appollis, stating that the highly-rated winger is going far with his career. “That boy [Appollis] is going far, and what I can say we’re still doing to make our fans happy, the best is yet to come,” the excited Tshepang Moremi added.”
