Cape Town City FC claimed their first win in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with a 3-2 victory over Midlands Wanderers, while Kwanele Kopo ended his winless run at AmaTuks.
The Citizens collected maximum points with a hard-fought win against Wanderers at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday afternoon. CT City found the back of the net twice in the first half with a brace from Jaedin Rhodes before the KZN outfit equalised with two quick goals in the second half.
As the game seemed to be going for a stalemate, new signing Therlo Moosa netted a late winning goal for CT City. The goal-poacher joined CT City a few days ago from Cape Town Spurs.
Before securing their first NFD win against Midlands, the Cape Town-based side had suffered three defeats and played three draws. As a result of the win, CT City jumped to 12th place on the league table with six points after seven matches played.
Elsewhere, Kwanele Kopo registered his first win in the colours of AmaTuks after beating Baroka FC 2-0 at the Mafori Mphahlele Stadium on Saturday.
KWANELE KOPO JOINED AMATUKS IN THE OFF-SEASON
Kopo was winless at Tuks after playing six successive draws since taking over the coaching job in the off-season after parting ways with Chippa United in December last year.

Meanwhile, Black Leopards collected three points with an impressive 3-0 against Kruger United at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.
Leopards overpowered Kruger thanks to a hat-trick from the highly-rated striker Bethuel Muzeu. The victory was also the club’s first win of the season, having lost three times and played two draws prior to beating the Mpumalanga-based side.
