Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka FC and experienced midfielder Collins Makgaka have parted ways, FARPost has learnt.
Makgaka returned to Baroka at the beginning of the 2024/25 season after he had left them in 2020. At the time, Makgaka had secured a dream move to Orlando Pirates.
The 29-year-old failed to cement a regular starting place in the Buccaneers team during his time at the club. He was subsequently released and spent the 2023/24 season at Sekhukhune United.
After a season at Sekhukhune, the player known as ‘Fabregas’ returned to Baroka. Despite featuring regularly since his return, the player has decided to leave the struggling National First Division [NFD] side.
ANOTHER KEY PLAYER DECIDED TO PART WAYS WITH BAROKA FC
He follows in the footsteps of club captain Ananias Junior Gebhardt, who surprisingly left the side a few days ago. The 37-year-old disclosed that his body could carry him anymore hence he decided to call it quits.
FARPost reached out to Makgaka, who confirmed that he had indeed reached a mutual agreement to part ways with the Lebowakgomo-based side.
โYes, we have mutually parted ways,โ Makgaka confirmed to FARPost when asked for a comment.

COLLINS MAKGAKA BIDS FAREWELL TO MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE
โSo I want to thank the chairman [Khurishi Mphahlele], management, coaches, and everyone at Baroka FC for the opportunity and support throughout my time with the club. I leave with respect and appreciation for all the experiences and memories,โ he added.
As FARPost had earlier reported, the futures of Tebogo Langerman, Lantshene Phalane, Thato Mokeke and Mothusi Gopane at the club remain uncertain.
This comes after the four players were informed that their futures with the senior team were no longer secured. They were subsequently instructed to take different roles at Barokaโs feeder team, which participates in the SAFA Hollywoodbets Promotional League.
Meanwhile, suspended head coach Dan Malesela is expected to appear before a club disciplinary process on Tuesday, 11 November.
