Babatunde Adepoju is back at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda Football Club following a successful season-long loan stint at Malawian side Nyasa Big Bullets FC.
The 30-year-old lanky striker returns to Venda on a high after managing 19 goals and seven assists for Big Bullets in all competitions during the 2025 season. FARPost understands that his sensational form saw the Malawian giants keen on retaining him for next season, but his parent club turned down the request.
He signed off his loan spell with a brace and an assist against Mzuzu City Hammers last Saturday to leave Big Bullets third on the table.
Adepoju is back at Venda to see out the remaining six months of his contract with the South African second-tier side. Should he continue with his top form, the Limpopo outfit could extend his stay at the club he first joined in January 2023 on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
Venda are currently seventh on the National First Division table with seven points less than log leaders Milford FC. For a side that has managed just 10 goals in 14 games so far this season, the lowest tally in the top eight, they have turned to Adepoju for a solution upfront.
ADEPOJU CONFIRMS HIS RETURN TO VENDA

“I would like to thank you for your massive support in the 2025 season. We failed to deliver the desired goal; otherwise we have lessons to face next,” said Adepoju.
“My stay at the People’s Team has come to an end as I will be returning to my club Venda Football Club. I would like to thank the fans, fellow players and management of this club for the support, love and prayers.
“Your support helped me and Chiku to win the league Golden Boot award, though it is not enough to give you the league.”
Having first arrived in Malawi 2017, Adepoju switched international allegiance from Nigeria to the Flames. He featured in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe in October 2025, as well as back-to-back international friendlies against Lesotho in the following month.
