Junior Dion is currently a man on a mission. The Golden Arrows striker has reflected on his recent surge in form, revealing his ultimate goal as he looks to maintain his clinical edge in the Betway Premiership.

Dion is arguably in his best form since arriving in the South African elite league in August 2021, when Marumo Gallants signed him from Botswana Premier League club Jwaneng Galaxy.

The 27-year-old has also played for AmaZulu FC. He has had two stints at Gallants, where he played 47 games, scoring 11 goals and recording one assist.

At AmaZulu FC, he also played 47 games, netting 14 goals and providing two assists. He joined Golden Arrows from Usuthu in August 2025.

This season, at Arrows, the Ivorian forward has featured in 20 games across all competitions, scoring ten goals and providing one assist. Simply put, Dion is on fire in the Betway Premiership, as his goals have come in league matches.

With nine goals in 15 league matches, Dion is currently leading the pack as the top scorer. He scored the other goal in the Nedbank Cup. While his impressive form is likely to spark interest from PSL giants, Dion is rather focused on a different goal – a long-lasting wish to break into the Ivory Coast senior national team.

Speaking to FARPost, Dion expressed his fervent hope that his current goal-scoring streak in the Betway Premiership will catch the eye of the national team selectors. The Arrows striker revealed that he hails from a lineage of footballers, and as the only member of his family still active on the pitch, he is determined to achieve what his predecessors could not: a call-up to represent his country at the highest level.

“I hope my current scoring form in the Betway Premiership will catch the eye of the Ivory Coast national team coaches and grab their attention. I’m praying that my hard work and goals will open doors for me to receive a call-up to the national team. It will be a dream come true for me,” Dion told FARPost.

“You see, I come from a family of footballers, and I’m the only one who’s still playing. I’ve always wanted to make my family proud, and if I’m considered for national team duty, I’ll be the first in my family to achieve this. That means everything to me, and it’s what drives me to work harder every day.

“My focus is on making an impact at the international level, representing my country, and wearing the Ivory Coast jersey with pride. If I can make a difference for my nation, that’s all that matters to me. My heart is set on making an impact at the national team level, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get there.”
