Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has emphasised that high-level coaching is non-negotiable at Naturena following the successful attainment of CAF A Licenses by a trio of the club’s technical staff.
Motaung Jr was reflecting on the significance of the elite badges recently secured by Rory Minnaar, Jimmy Jambo, and Unathi Mabena, who all completed their CAF A Diplomas most recently.
Minnaar serves as the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy [KCYDA] goalkeeper coach and is now one of only five goalkeeper coaches in the country to hold this qualification.
Whereas Jambo is a retired former Zimbabwe international and Chiefs left-back. He leads the Amakhosi Under-15 side, while Mabena is the first-ever head coach of the newly established Kaizer Chiefs Ladies team.
The Amakhosi Ladies team, made up of 24 players, is set to compete in the SAFA Sasol League in Gauteng. They will play their matches at KwaThema Stadium and the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena.

Moreso, the trio join other CAF A licensed coaches at the club, like Vela Khumalo and Mohammed Bhamjee, who are also part of the KCYDA.
“We are extremely proud of the trio. Coaches Jimmy, Rory, and Unathi have made us proud with this achievement, which allows them to coach at the highest level in international football,” said Motaung Jr.
“It’s a remarkable accomplishment for the club and our players. Modern football requires coaches to continuously stay up to date with the latest developments, and we want to ensure that high-level coaching is available not only for the senior team but across all seven teams representing Kaizer Chiefs.”
Meanwhile, the Chiefs boss added: “We trust in the ability of our coaches to impart their acquired knowledge and expertise to our boys in the KCYDA and with our young ladies as they compete in the Gauteng Development League and DStv Diski Challenge and the Sasol League.”
