Four goals in five games: Billiat regains his midas touch

Former Kaizer Chiefs talisman Khama Billiat in action

Unlike the 2025 season, former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns talisman Khama Billiat seems to have regained his touch under the guidance of former Chippa United coach Norman Mapeza.

The 35-year-old has been at the forefront for Scottland FC and is their top goalscorer after five Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches.

Billiat has scored four goals in league matches- two braces he notched against Manica Diamonds and FC Hunters in March. He is one of the top contenders for the March Player of the Month Award.

As it stands, he is tied on the same number of goals as Ralph Kawondera of Herentals College FC and Ngezi Platinum Stars forward Marvellous Mukumba.

The 2015/16 PSL Footballer of the Season has surpassed his 2025 goal achievement, where he scored one goal in 34 matches. Moreover, he has enjoyed significant game time as he has been deployed in all the matches, as Mapeza heavily depends on his experience and leadership.

BILLIAT AND MUSONA: THE VETERAN DUO DRIVING SCOTTLAND FCโ€™S EARLY TITLE CHARGE

While Walter Musona is the team captain, Scottland has been anchored on the experience and leadership of Billiat and Knowledge Musona. Both Billiat and Musona are the most senior players at Scottland FC.

Most of the team’s forward movements are heavily hinged on Billiat and Musona. The midfield duo of Mthokozisi Msebe and Abubakar Moffat have made their job easier.

Right-back Moses Shidolo has also been a standout performer at the Harare-based club. So far, Knowledge Musona has not scored, while his brother Walter Musona has managed three goals.

In addition, Scottland has also emerged as the highest scoring team, with 10 goals in five games. They are second on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table with 11 points, tied on the same number of points with Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum Stars. Caps United FC sit at the helm with 12 points from five games.
