DR Congo centre-forward Jean Lwamba notched a brace for Durban City FC as they settled for a thrilling 2-2 draw with Siwelele FC, while Orbit College FC won the battle of strugglers over Magesi FC in Betway Premiership matches played on Tuesday night.
At the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein, Siwelele FC and Durban City FC had a blistering start to the match, as both sides showed hunger to assert their dominance.
The visiting side, Durban City FC, fresh from their Nedback Cup triumph, surged ahead after six minutes through a goal scored by Jean Lwamba. Lwamba’s goal was assisted by Luphumlo Sifumba.
However, Siwelele FC restored parity on the 12th minute via Bohlale Ngwato, who beat Ghanaian goalkeeper Fredrick Asare with a left footer from close range, with Yandisa Mfolozi weighing in with the assist. They were tied 1-1 at the break.
Siwelele FC then took the lead on the 57th minute, through Gamphani Lungu with a flashing header from very close range, following a cross that was delivered by Sphesihle Jeza.
Nevertheless, Durban City FC restored parity on the 76th minute, as the match reached its boiling point. And it was Lwamba who was the scorer, completing his brace with a header from close range. In the end, the teams settled for a share of spoils.
And as it stands, Durban City FC are sixth on the table with 37 points from 27 matches, while Siwelele FC have 33 points after the same number of games.

BATTLE OF STRUGGLERS ENDS IN FAVOUR OF ORBIT COLLEGE FC
At Seshego Stadium, the match between Magesi FC and Orbit College FC was halted due to lightning. And when the match finally went ahead, Orbit College FC were first to assert their dominance via Lucky Malatsi following a fast break that was spurred by Kobamelo Setlhodi.
Gomolemo Khoto doubled Orbit College FC’s lead on the 37th minute, as they were seriously gunning for a win. Magesi FC, however, were battling tooth and nail to get back into the game. Motsie Matima equalised for Dikwena tša Meetse on the 41st minute, heading the ball home from a cross that was whipped in by Mcedi Vandala.
As such, Orbit claimed maximum points, their first win in eight matches. After the 2-1 win, Orbit College moved to 14th position with 23 points from 27 matches, while Magesi are 15th on the table with 21 points.
Meanwhile, the other match which was scheduled for Tuesday night between Chippa United and Sekhukhune United was postponed due to waterlogging. The match will be played on Wednesday at 13h00 at the same venue, Buffalo City Stadium.
