Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC has announced an exciting new partnership with Umbro, who will become the club’s official apparel sponsor for the 2026/27 season.

Stellies made the announcement about the long-term partnership with Umbro on Tuesday, marking a shift in their match kit, training wear, and lifestyle apparel.

The Winelands-based side secured a new deal on the day that they are facing Orlando Pirates in the mouth-watering league clash at Athlone Stadium.

Stellenbosch is looking for positive results against the Buccaneers to dent their chances of closing the gap on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns in the title race.

The Soweto giants are sitting second on the log with 59 points, while the defending champions are at the summit of the table with 64 points, boosting a healthy advantage of five points.

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch is not only looking to halt Pirates’ title aspirations, but they are also fighting to finish the 2025/26 campaign in the top eight. Gavin Hunt’s charges are occupying 10th on the log standings with 32 points in 26 games, and they are three points behind eighth-placed Golden Arrows, who have collected 35 points.

With Stellenbosch aiming for an improved showing in the next season, they announced the acquisition of Umbro, who will replace Le Coq Sportif after sponsoring the club since 2020.

“Stellenbosch FC and ShockProof Investments 223 (Pty) Ltd, Umbro’s official licensee partner across selected African countries, are proud to announce a new partnership that will see Umbro become an official sponsor of the club,”  Stellenbosch said in a statement.

“Under the agreement, the sports brand will supply Stellenbosch with official match kits, training wear, and lifestyle apparel (off-field fan and player apparel) from the 2026-27 season, with the Club rejoining Umbro’s international football family of over 120 teams across the globe.

“The partnership reunites and renews a fruitful relationship that traces back to the club’s rise to the top-flight of South African football, with Umbro having proudly served as the technical kit sponsor during Stellenbosch’s title-winning triumph and promotion in the 2018-19 National First Division campaign.”
