Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, goalkeeper Sipho Chaine, and Sekhukhune United’s Bright Ndlovu have clinched the final Betway Premiership monthly awards for May 2026.
The Premier Soccer League [PSL] confirmed the award winners on Monday following the conclusion of the thrilling 2025/26 campaign.
It proved to be a historic month for the Buccaneers, who dominated the final individual accolades alongside their team success.
OUADDOU, CHAINE GUIDE PIRATES TO HISTORIC TITLE
Pirates mentor Ouaddou secured his third Betway Premiership Coach of the Month accolade of the season. The Moroccan tactician guided the Soweto giants through an impressive unbeaten run in May, registering three wins and one draw in four matches.
This phenomenal late surge proved decisive as Pirates were officially crowned Betway Premiership champions, ending a 14-year league title drought.
Ouaddou faced tough competition for the award but ultimately edged out Mamelodi Sundowns mentor Miguel Cardoso. TS Galaxy’s Bernard Parker was also in the running after a commendable final stretch where he guided his side clear of the relegation zone.
In the player category, Pirates shot-stopper Sipho Chaine claimed his very first Betway Premiership Player of the Month award.
Chaine was in impenetrable form throughout May, keeping four clean sheets in four matches. His stellar performances during the month helped him break the all-time PSL record for the most clean sheets in a single season, finishing the campaign with a staggering 21 shutouts.
His commanding presence in goal played a pivotal leadership role in taking the Betway Premiership trophy to Orlando.
BRIGHT NDLOVU WALK AWAY WITH THE GOAL OF THE MONTH AWARD
Meanwhile, Sekhukhune’s star, Ndlovu, walked away with the Goal of the Month award.
Ndlovu won the accolade for his long-range rocket against Siwelele FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on 23 May.
The strike, which perfectly showcased his composure and technique, is already being tipped as one of the strong contenders for the Goal of the Season.
