Jaisen Clifford is pondering his next move as his contract with Marumo Gallants nears its end. The winger is available to join a club of his choice after his short-term stint with Gallants, where he quietly built a strong case for a longer stay in the Betway Premiership.
He penned a one-year deal when he joined the Bloemfontein club at the start of the season. Gallants are understood to be keen on retaining the 30-year-old, but Clifford has attracted interest elsewhere and is expected to decide on his future in the coming weeks.
THREE OF JAISEN CLIFFORD’S GOALS CAME AGAINST TOP FIVE OPPOSITION
He scored four goals despite starting only six matches in all competitions. Notably, three of those goals came against sides that finished inside the league’s top five.
He found the net against Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United. The former Etar Veliko Tarnovo winger was often used as an impact substitute, making 22 appearances from the bench during the campaign. Yet he still managed to contribute important goals at crucial moments for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa.

His performances, despite often being played off the right rather than his favoured right wing, have revived interest. Clifford spent nearly a decade abroad after leaving South Africa, gaining experience across several European leagues.
His journey took him through Malta, Lithuania, Portugal and Bulgaria, while he also enjoyed a stint in Armenia. The former SuperSport United development product first moved overseas in 2015 when he joined Maltese outfit Gudja United. He later turned out for Mqabba FC before moving to Lithuanian side Stumbras, where he played alongside former Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota.
Subsequent spells followed at Condeixa in Portugal, FC Van in Armenia, and Bulgarian club Etar Veliko Tarnovo, where he remained until his return to South Africa last year.
His experience in different football environments has helped shape a versatile attacker capable of adapting to varying tactical demands.
