Chippa United have surprisingly cut ties with goalkeeper coach Sean Louw as the club continues its shake-up ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season, FARPost has learnt.
Louw’s exit marks another departure from the Chilli Boys after the club made headlines for making six coaching changes in the previous campaign.
The highly-rated goalkeeper coach has been a key member of Chippa’s backroom staff, helping the Eastern Cape-based team unleash some of the best goalies in the PSL in the past few years.
In Louw’s presence at Chippa, they’ve had the emergence of keepers such as Stanley Nwabali, Darren Johnson, Lloyd Kazapua and Dumisani Msibi. The latter was one of the best shot stoppers in the just-ended season, with eight clean sheets in the league.
In a dramatic turn of events, FARPost has established that Louw—the man key to Msibi’s impressive displays—has parted ways with Chippa United and will not be part of the team next season.
SEAN LOUW WORKED WITH RULANI MOKWENA AT WYDAD ATHLETIC CLUB

The talented trainer was in his second stint with Chippa United after returning to the club last season. In the 2024/25 season, Louw had left Chippa to form part of Rulani Mokwena’s technical team at Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club before returning to his former employers when the South African mentor left the Red Castle in July 2025.
Chippa are seemingly undergoing drastic changes under the new head coach, Brandon Truter. The former Richards Bay FC tactician arrived at the Chippa Mpengesi-owned side just before the final match of the last season and successfully helped the team to move out of the relegation zone.
Under Truter’s guidance, Chippa claimed a crucial 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs on the last day of the campaign to avoid relegation after finishing 13th on the log standings with 28 points in 30 games.
