Veteran frontman Ruzaigh Gamildien has weighed in on his future at Hope FC after helping the club win the 2025/26 SAFA ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs and secure promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Gamildien was one of the Western Cape outfit’s marquee signings in the just-ended campaign, as the club aimed at bolstering its squad with experienced players to mount a serious promotional charge.
The Dylan Dean-coached side spared no effort in assembling a star-studded squad, acquiring the services of players such as Gamildien, Masilakhe Phohlongo, Leathan Croats, and veteran defender Clayton Daniels.
Gamildien joined the ambitious ABC Motsepe League side as a free agent following his departure from Betway Premiership side Chippa United. He had signed for the Chilli Boys in August last year after cutting ties with Durban City FC.
The 37-year-old forward proved his worth by helping Hope FC to be crowned the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League champions, booking their spot in the national playoffs in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.
They went all the way in the ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs, securing promotion to the South African second tier for the upcoming season.

‘I’M NOT GOING TO MAKE ANY PROMISES ABOUT IT’: RUZAIGH GAMILDIEN
Speaking to FARPost after the entertaining promotional tournament, the former Chilli Boys striker opened up about whether he will pull the curtain down on his career or lead the team into the professional ranks.
“I’m not going to make any promises about it [playing another season or retiring], but I would love to play another season and help the team survive in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. The rest I will leave to God,” Gamildien told this publication.
“However, I’m very happy to have helped the team gain promotion. Yes, I might not have the legs now, but I really fought.
“I have tried my best and given my all, and I’m happy for the guys. Now we are going to have a team from Cape Town [in the PSL], and hopefully, the younger players will be excited to be going to play professional football.”
