Motsepe Foundation Championship side Highbury FC have parted ways with winger Nkosinathi Ononogbu as the 2026/27 PSL season fast approaches.

The 28-year-old joined the Eastern Cape-based outfit in August last year, arriving as part of a squad overhaul that saw Highbury FC unveil 13 new signings prior to the start of the previous campaign.

Ononogbu brought a wealth of experience to the Highbury squad, having established himself as a seasoned campaigner in South Africa’s second tier. Throughout his career, the attacker has turned out for more than six clubs in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Some of the clubs he represented in the National First Division [NFD] include Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM], Baroka FC, JDR Stars, Black Leopards, TS Sporting, and Kruger United.

During his stay with Highbury, Ononogbu helped the club secure a sixth-place finish in the league standings, accumulating 42 points from their 30 outings.
