Banyana Banyana star Hildah Magaia has parted ways with Spanish Liga F club Deportivo de La Coruña, almost six months after joining the club.

The 31-year-old forward joined the Spanish side in January this year from Mexican outfit Club Tijuana.

During her brief stint with the Liga F club, the South African-born goalscorer managed to feature in six matches before reaching an agreement to cut ties with the team.

Popularly known in football circles as the ‘Bread Winner’, she took to Instagram on Tuesday to confirm her departure, expressing gratitude to the club’s management, teammates, and fans for her time in Spain.

Reflecting on her stint abroad, the Banyana Banyana star revealed it was a bittersweet farewell.

“I want to thank everyone. My teammates, coaches, management, supporters, and everyone behind the scenes for believing in me. Thanks for supporting me and helping me grow both as a player and as a person.

“The lessons, friendships, and experiences I have gained here will stay with me forever.”

In addition, Magaia’s overseas club career includes stints with Morön BK [Sweden], Sejong Sportstoto WFC [South Korea], Mazatlán FC and Club Tijuana [Mexico], and Kansas City Current [USA]. In South Africa, she turned out for the Tuks Ladies [University of Pretoria Women’s Football Club].
