Mamelodi Sundowns frontman Brayan Léon has revealed his ambitions for the upcoming 2026/27 season following his impressive displays in the Masandawana colours last campaign.

Léon took the Betway Premiership by storm following his move to Chloorkop from Colombian side Independiente Medellín in January this year.

The 25-year-old frontman reportedly joined the Brazilians on a hefty R58 million transfer fee, with his contract in Colombia originally set to run until June 2027.

Despite joining midway through the season, the Colombian marksman hit the ground running under the demanding expectations at Bafana Ba Style. He hit the back of the net 15 times in just 26 appearances across all competitions.

BRYAN LÉON TARGETS MORE SILVERWARE AND GOALS

Reflecting on his impressive start to life in South Africa, Léon believes his impressive half-season tally is just a glimpse of what is to come.

“Next season, I want to score more goals than I did this season,” said Léon in the latest Mamelodi Sundowns Magazine edition issued on 15 June 2026.

“If I scored 15 in half a season, I know I can do much better in a full one. And I want to help the team win more trophies. It is going to be an exciting season for us.”

The forward is currently back home in South America after his satisfying introduction to African football, which included conquering the continent.

“I am excited to go home and see my family and friends in Colombia. I will rest, recover and prepare for next season,” he added.

“These five months [in South Africa] have been incredible. Playing in the PSL and the CAF Champions League was different from anything I have experienced. Away games were the toughest because you need extra energy, extra focus and extra heart.

“Winning the CAF Champions League feels surreal. To help bring the trophy back after ten years… that was our biggest dream. Everyone is happy. Everyone worked for this.”
