AmaTuks have cut ties with former Motsepe Foundation Championship top goalscorer Prince Nxumalo ahead of the 2026/27 PSL campaign, FARPost has established.

Nxumalo joined Tuks prior to the commencement of the 2025/26 season from JDR Stars, where he had an impressive stint, scoring nine goals in his final season with the Hammer Boys.

The 36-year-old is a proven goalscorer who added significant value to the Tshwane-based outfit, previously coached by Kwanele Kopo. He boasts a wealth of experience in South African football, having turned out for top-flight and second-tier teams such as Sekhukhune United, Baroka FC, Golden Arrows, Ubuntu Cape Town, Bidvest Wits, and SuperSport United.

Last season, the experienced frontman featured in 20 games across all competitions for Tuks and weighed in with eight goals.

However, Nxumalo’s scoring momentum at the University of Pretoria was severely hampered by a long-term injury that sidelined him for three months.

Despite his injury lay-off, his contributions helped AmaTuks finish 11th on the National First Division [NFD] table with 35 points after 30 league fixtures.

AMATUKS DECIDE AGAINST RENEWING PRINCE NXUMALO’S CONTRACT

FARPost can confirm that the AmaTuks management decided against renewing Nxumalo’s contract, which is set to expire at the end of this month.

The decision was also driven by coach Kopo’s departure, with the club shifting its focus to developing young players for the upcoming season.

Nxumalo, who won the Motsepe Foundation Championship Golden Boot during the 2023/24 season after banging in 18 goals for JDR Stars, is now a free agent and can join any team of his choice.

At the moment, it remains unclear where the veteran forward will be heading next, with the new domestic season scheduled to begin in August.
