Former Motsepe Foundation Championship top goalscorer Prince Nxumalo has insisted he is not yet ready to hang up his boots, declaring he still has the “legs to carry him through” for a few more seasons.
The 36-year-old recently parted ways with National First Division [NFD] outfit University of Pretoria [AmaTuks], as first reported by FARPost.
Nxumalo had joined AmaTuks ahead of the 2025/26 campaign following a successful spell with JDR Stars, where he netted nine goals in his final season with the Hammer Boys.
During his latest stint at Tuks, the veteran forward proved his value to the Tshwane-based outfit, as featured in 20 matches across all competitions for the club, weighing in with eight goals.
However, his scoring momentum was severely disrupted by a long-term injury that sidelined him for three months.
Despite his lengthy lay-off, Nxumalo’s contributions were vital in helping AmaTuks secure an 11th-place finish on the Motsepe Foundation Championship log, collecting 35 points from their 30 league fixtures.
‘I CAN STILL PUSH FOR TWO TO THREE SEASONS’: PRINCE NXUMALO

The experienced frontman believes veteran players are often unfairly written off in the domestic game, but insists he still has the legs to play for another two to three seasons.
“I still want to play. I believe I can still push for two to three seasons,” Nxumalo told FARPost.
“But you know it gets difficult in South African football when a player reaches the age of 35 or 36. You are immediately considered old. But honestly, I’m not yet tired; I still have the legs to carry on. I believe God will hear my prayers to find another team.”
PRINCE NXUMALO BOASTS WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE IN SA DOMESTIC LEAGUES
Nxumalo boasts a wealth of top-flight and second-tier experience in South African football. The proven goalscorer has turned out for several clubs, including SuperSport United, Bidvest Wits, Golden Arrows, Sekhukhune United, Baroka FC, and Ubuntu Cape Town.
Now a free agent, the seasoned forward is holding out for a new home where he can prove that age is nothing but a number.
