AmaZulu FC midfielder Siyanda Hlangabeza has been rewarded for his stellar performances in the 2025/26 campaign after signing a contract extension with the club.

The news was officially confirmed by his agency, Siyavuma Sports, on Tuesday night following a his impressive breakthrough season under the guidance of head coach Arthur Zwane.

The 23-year-old midfielder established himself as one of the key players at Usuthu during the just-concluded Betway Premiership season. Hlangabeza featured in 24 games across all competitions, showcasing remarkable consistency and maturity on the pitch.

His exceptional form did not go unnoticed, as he picked up three Man of the Match accolades throughout the campaign.

Hlangabeza’s contributions were pivotal in helping the KwaZulu-Natal club secure an impressive fourth-place finish in the last term. Usuthu managed to accumulate 47 points from 30 matches in the Betway Premiership.

SIYANDA HLANGABEZA’S JOURNEY TO THE FIRST TEAM

Hlangabeza is a product of the AmaZulu youth academy. He made his professional debut for the club back in August 2023.

To fine-tune his skills and gain valuable experience, the talented midfielder spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Durban City FC. The club was competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the time.

Following a successful stint in the National First Division, he returned to Usuthu ahead of the 2025/26 season. He seamlessly transitioned into a top-flight regular for AmaZulu.

SIYAVUMA SPORTS STATEMENT ON SIYANDA HLANGABEZA’S CONTRACT EXTENSION AT AMAZULU FC

In a statement released by Siyavuma Sports on Tuesday, 30 June, the agency expressed pride in their client’s growth. They went on to emphasise that this renewal is a direct result of his dedication.

“After a standout season, Siyanda Hlangabeza was rewarded with a well-deserved contract renewal at AmaZulu FC following his breakthrough campaign,” reads the agency’s statement.

“Congratulations, Siyanda. The hard work continues.”

With his future firmly secured in Durban, Hlangabeza will look to build on this momentum and remain a key player for the Zwane-coached side for the upcoming campaign.
