Celimpilo Ngema talking to FARPost after Kruger United gained promotion to the elite league

Kruger United midfielder Celimpilo Ngema has reflected on his football journey following his return to the elite league after securing promotion with the Mpumalanga-based outfit.

The talented midfielder has been one of the key players in the Abram Mongoya-coached side, which won the 2025/26 Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.

Ngema’s last stint in the Premiership was with AmaZulu FC in 2024. The 28-year-old former Marumo Gallants and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila player was given another lifeline after securing a contract at Kruger.

Ngema has opened up on what it means for him to help the side gain a historic promotion to compete in the Betway Premiership.

“I am so happy knowing that we have helped promote a club to the PSL. That means a lot to me,” Ngema told FARPost.

“All I can say is God is great because after leaving that side [AmaZulu FC], I have helped Kruger United gain promotion as well. That means a lot to me.”

KRUGER UNITED MIDFIELDER CONFIRMS THAT HE IS SET TO REMAIN AT THE CLUB

With regard to his future at the club, Ngema hinted that he is set to sign on the dotted line after initially joining on a short-term deal.

“Sure, case, I am coming back. This is my home now. I was able to carry on with my career. So I will stay here. I am just grateful, my brother,” he added.

“To the people who have always had my back and want them to continue supporting me to grow and support other players as well.”

Kruger United finished first in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with 62 points from their 30 matches. They finished eight points above the closest rivals, Milford FC and Cape Town City, who are the two teams that secured a promotion playoff spot.
