Mamelodi Sundowns have dramatically beaten rivals Orlando Pirates to the signature of highly-rated Golden Arrows star Siyanda Ndlovu, officially unveiling the attacker on Saturday.

The Brazilians unveiled Ndlovu on Saturday morning, beefing up their attack for the 2026/27 season as they are looking to defend the CAF Champions League title.

Sundowns will also be gunning for the Betway Premiership title that was won by Pirates last season, while fighting for other domestic trophies.

In one of the most talked-about moves of the current transfer window, Sundowns have won the race to sign Ndlovu, who looked set to join the Buccaneers.

The 22-year-old arrived at Mayfair last week to complete a move to Pirates; however, talks broke down after the two parties reportedly failed to agree on the player’s personal terms.

The breakdown of talks opened a fresh window for Sundowns to pounce on Ndlovu, who has been one of the best attackers in the previous campaign.

The KZN-born star featured in 31 matches across all competitions for Abafana Bes’thende under head coach Manqoba Mngqithi, scoring four goals and providing eight assists.

His blistering pace to take on defenders, creativity to score, and assists in goals made Ndlovu one of the hottest young players in South African football.

Ahead of the highly-anticipated 2026/27 season, Ndlovu will don the yellow jersey of Mamelodi Sundowns as Miguel Cardoso’s charges strengthen their squad, which already has a galaxy of stars.

Speaking briefly on his arrival at Sundowns on the club’s social media platforms, Ndlovu said, “My name is Siyanda Ndlovu, and I’m happy to be yellow.”

Ndlovu, who is also the nominee for the Betway Premiership Goal of the Season in the 2026 PSL awards, is the second player to join Sundowns in the current transfer window after the club signed Antonio Van Wyk.
