Mamelodi Sundowns have dramatically beaten rivals Orlando Pirates to the signature of highly-rated Golden Arrows star Siyanda Ndlovu, officially unveiling the attacker on Saturday.
The Brazilians announced the arrival of Ndlovu this morning, beefing up their attack for the 2026/27 season as they are looking to defend their CAF Champions League title. Sundowns will also be gunning for the Betway Premiership title that was won by Pirates last season, while fighting for other domestic trophies.
In one of the most talked-about moves of the current transfer window, Sundowns have won the race to sign Ndlovu, who looked set to join the Buccaneers.
The 22-year-old arrived at Mayfair last week to finalise a move to Pirates and underwent medical examinations with the PSL champions. However, as previously reported by FARPost, talks broke down after the player did not agree to the package tabled by the Soweto giants. The collapse of the deal opened a fresh window for Sundowns to pounce on Ndlovu, who stood out as one of the league’s top attackers last season.

“Siyanda Ndlovu is Yellow. Mamelodi Sundowns welcomes Siyanda Ndlovu as the latest addition to the team. Welcome to the home of Champions,” reads the brief statement by the Tshwane giants.
His blistering pace when taking on defenders, combined with his ability to both score and create goals, made Ndlovu one of the hottest prospects in South African football.
Ahead of the highly anticipated 2026/27 season, Ndlovu will don the yellow jersey of Sundowns as head coach Miguel Cardoso strengthens a squad already packed with a galaxy of stars.
Speaking briefly on his arrival at Sundowns on the club’s social media platforms, the player said, “My name is Siyanda Ndlovu, and I’m happy to be yellow.”
Ndlovu, who is also the nominee for the Betway Premiership Goal of the Season in the 2026 PSL awards, is the second player to join Sundowns in the current transfer window after the club signed Antonio Van Wyk from Austrian club SV Ried.
