Betway Premiership newcomers Kruger United have continued to significantly strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, securing the services of experienced duo Thendo Mukumela and Thabang Sibanyoni, FARPost has learnt.
The newly promoted outfit remains one of the busiest in the current transfer market as they ruthlessly assemble a side capable of competing at the highest level of South African football.
Mukumela joins the club after spending the past three seasons with Black Leopards in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Despite Lidoda Duvha’s recent struggles, the 28-year-old versatile defender remains highly regarded within local football circles for his structural composure and tactical leadership.
Prior to his tenure in Limpopo, the former youth international featured for AmaZulu FC, where he initially established himself as a promising defensive talent. Kruger United will be heavily relying on his top-flight pedigree to bring stability to their backline alongside fellow new defensive recruits Kwanda Mngonyama and Katlego Mohamme.
THABANG SIBANYONI ARRIVES TO SHARPEN ATTACK AT KRUGER UNITED

Joining Mukumela in the incoming ranks is seasoned forward Thabang Sibanyoni, who arrives following his departure from Magesi FC.
The 30-year-old frontman boasts extensive top-flight experience, having racked up roughly 80 appearances in the Betway Premiership throughout his career. He brings a proven physical presence to the frontline, with a career tally that includes 10 league goals and three assists in South Africa’s elite division.
During the previous campaign, Sibanyoni featured in 26 matches across all competitions, netting three goals during Magesi’s battle to protect their Premiership status. Both Mukumela and Sibanyoni have penned deals with the Mpumalanga-based side and are expected to hit the ground running during pre-season.
Meanwhile, ‘The Village Boys’ have also reinforced their attacking options with the acquisition of 23-year-old winger Mlungisi Zwane from Casric Stars on a two-year contract with an option to extend.
The influx of new talent at the top-flight debutants includes Lindokuhle Mtshali, George Lata, Douglas Mapfumo, Sifundo Sibanyoni, Kgopotso Mkhonza, Ntsako Makhubela, and Sipho Sibiya.
In a further boost to the squad’s offensive continuity, South African national Under-23 forward Vicky Mkhawane will remain at the club for another season on loan from Kaizer Chiefs.
