Betway Premiership outfit Siwelele FC are on the verge of finalising the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs and Swallows FC defender Njabulo Ngcobo ahead of the new 2026/26 season, FARPost has established.
FARPost understands that the 32-year-old has been training with the Bloemfontein outfit since parting ways with Cape Town City FC and has done enough in his assessment to earn a contract.
Barring any late complications, Ngcobo is expected to be unveiled as one of Siwelele’s latest additions ahead of the new Betway Premiership season. The move would offer the experienced defender another chance to reignite a career that has yet to recapture the form that earned him the PSL Defender of the Season award after an outstanding campaign with Swallows FC.
That breakthrough earned him a dream move to Chiefs, but he struggled to find consistency at Naturena before subsequent spells at Sekhukhune United and Cape Town City FC. Now, Siwelele are prepared to offer the experienced defender a fresh start as they continue rebuilding under Lehlohonolo Seema.
Ngcobo’s anticipated arrival comes as Siwelele reshape their backline following the departures of Pogiso Sanoka, Nyiko Mobbie to Sekhukhune United, and Neo Rapoo to Orlando Pirates.
THABISO SESANE ANOTHER DEFENSIVE ADDITION AT SIWELELE

The club has also strengthened its defensive options with the arrival of the former Orlando Pirates centre-back, Thabiso Sesane. Sesane was in sparkling form before a lengthy injury setback stalled his progress. His impressive performances had earned him recognition from Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, making this move an ideal opportunity to revive his career ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Siwelele have also added quality across the pitch, with former SuperSport United midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja joining the club. Talented winger Jaisen Clifford has also been snapped up from Marumo Gallants. Lesotho international Neo Mokhachane arrives after his spell with Botswana champions Jwaneng Galaxy.
The club has further strengthened its squad with the signing of Botswana international goalkeeper Goitseone Phoko on a two-year deal, while Ghanaian striker Hamza Issah is expected to complete a season-long loan move from Hearts of Oak.
Seema has also recruited promising talent Kwanda Lupalule, Felix Noge and Rehloholofaditswe Thulo from Mangaung United as he continues to reshape his squad following Siwelele’s 10th-place finish in the Betway Premiership last season.
Meanwhile, the club has also witnessed a number of high-profile departures. Rapoo, Gamphani Lungu and Bohlale Ngwato have all moved to the Bucs, while Nyiko Mobbie returns to Sekhukhune United. Winger Kgaogelo Sekgota has also left the club, with Gape Moralo joining AmaZulu FC, while Maloisane Mokhele, Lyle Lakay and Mahlatsi Makudubela have all departed.
