AmaZulu FC confirm exit of six players, announce new signings

Betway Premiership side AmaZulu FC have confirmed the departure of several players, including Bongani Zungu, while welcoming seven new signings for the new 2026/27 season.

Usuthu, like most Betway Premiership teams, have been reinforcing their squad ahead of the new season. Under the guidance of coach Arthur Zwane, AmaZulu finished in an impressive fourth place last season.

The club has now beefed up in various departments with the signings of a few players, including former Kaizer Chiefs youngster Omega Mdaka.

Mdaka [23] joins the KwaZulu-Natal side from Stellenbosch FC, alongside his former Stellies teammate Khomotjo Lekoloane [28].

Talented midfielder Mncedi Vandala [29] joins from Magesi FC, while experienced right-back Keenan Phillips [26] joins from Golden Arrows.

Gape Morale [26] has signed from Siwelele FC, while the club has also secured the services of Ivorian goalkeeper Faveur Kouassi [24] from Milan outfit Djobila AC.

Kenyan striker Moses Shumah [23] has also been announced after a stint with Zambian Premier League champions Power Dynamos.

“All seven signings form part of a carefully considered recruitment drive as we prepare for the 2026/27 season,” said AmaZulu FC President Sandile Zungu.

“We are confident they possess the quality, character and ambition to contribute positively to our objectives both on and off the field. On behalf of the AmaZulu Football Club family, I warmly welcome each of them and wish them every success in the green and white.

AMAZULU FC LET GO OF SIX PLAYERS TO MAKE WAY FOR NEW ARRIVALS

Meanwhile, the club has also bid farewell to Goalkeeper Richard Ofori, defender Sphephelo Majola and midfielders Zungu and Mason Mushore, together with forwards Thabiso Kutumela and Elmo Kambindu.

The club has also announced that they are currently five days into an intensive 10-day pre-season training camp in Johannesburg. The Betway Premiership is expected to commence on the weekend of 1 August 2026.
