Orlando Pirates will begin their title defence at home to Milford FC, while Kaizer Chiefs will travel to newcomers Kruger United, and Mamelodi Sundowns will host Marumo Gallants in the opening matches of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership.
This follows the release of the draft fixtures by the Premier Soccer League ahead of the start of the new season. As FARPost had earlier reported, the new season will commence on the weekend of 1 August 2026.
PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE RELEASE THE DRAFT FIXTURES AHEAD OF THE 2026/27 SEASON
The other fixture of the opening day of the season will see Golden Arrows host Chippa United, Stellenbosch FC will take on AmaZulu FC, Sekhukhune United will be at home to Durban City.
On Sunday, 2 August Richards bay will host Polokwane City while Siwelele FC will take on TS Galaxy. The following weekend of 8 August 2026 will see the commencement of the MTN8 quarter-final matches.
KEY DATES OF THE DOMESTIC CUP FINALS AND SOWETO DERBY
Some of the key dates of the domestic Cup finals and season finale have also been revealed. The MTN8 Final will take place on Saturday, 10 October 2026. The Carling Knockout Final will follow on Saturday, 12 December 2026.
As usual, the Nedbank Cup is the last domestic Cup and has been scheduled to take place on Saturday, 01 May 2027, while the Betway Premiership season finale will be on Saturday, 22 May 2027. Sunday, 23 May will see the commencement of the PSL promotion playoffs.
The first Soweto derby of the season will be on Saturday, 31 October 2026 with Orlando Pirates the home team. Kaizer Chiefs will host their bitter rivals on Saturday, 13 March 2027. Meanwhile, the Premier Soccer League is expected to release the final list of the fixtures and the home venues in due course.
