Kaizer Chiefs have reached an agreement with newly promoted Betway Premiership side Kruger United for the season-long loan of goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, FARPost has established. The move comes after Chiefs decided the Rwandan international would be better served by playing regular football elsewhere rather than remaining on the fringes of Fernando Da Cruz’s squad.
FARPost has it on good authority that the two clubs had agreed on the loan. The arrangement means the Rwanda international has not travelled with the team to Spain for pre-season ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Ntwari was limited to only one appearance in the Carling Knockout Cup against Stellenbosch FC, where the goalkeeper was seen refusing instructions to be substituted out.
After the controversial incident, Ntwari’s relationship with the technical team and the club hierarchy was tainted, resulting in his ultimate exit in the current transfer window.
The 26-year-old has been with Glamour Boys for the past two seasons after signing in July 2024 from TS Galaxy under the then-head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
RENALDO LEANER ARRIVAL AT KAIZER CHIEFS
Chiefs are reportedly not looking to cash in on the goalkeeper despite his difficult stint at Naturena. The club still believe he has long-term value after investing significantly to sign him from TS Galaxy and views a loan spell as the best way for him to rediscover his touch.
His path to regular football has become even more complicated following the arrival of Renaldo Leaner on a free transfer from Sekhukhune United.
Leaner joins an already crowded goalkeeping department that includes Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma, while academy product Bontle Molefe has returned from a successful loan spell at Leicesterford City FC before signing a new long-term contract.
With four senior goalkeepers competing for places, opportunities for Ntwari appeared increasingly limited under Da Cruz.
FIACRE NTWARI STRUGGLE GAME-TIME AT KAIZER CHIEFS

Ntwari has had a challenging spell with Chiefs after managing only eight appearances in two seasons, conceding 11 goals and keeping only one clean sheet. A move to Kruger United offers him the chance to play consistently while remaining under contract with Chiefs until June 2028.
His departure also creates flexibility for Amakhosi by freeing one of the club’s foreign-player registration slots should they decide to strengthen other areas of the squad before the transfer window closes. Ntwari arrived at Chiefs with an impressive reputation after his performances for TS Galaxy and initially established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
However, his fortunes changed as the season progressed. He gradually lost his place in the starting XI before eventually dropping out of the matchday squad altogether. He will be looking to regain his best form at the Village Boys, who clinched promotion to SA’s top-flight after winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship title last season.
The goal-minder will bring a wealth of international experience to Kruger United, having played in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with Rwanda.
