Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United have confirmed the extension of the loan deal for Orlando Pirates defender Tshepho Mashiloane.
FARPost had reported in May 2026 that Sekhukhune were in discussions with Pirates over the extension of Mashiloane’s loan move for another season.
Mashiloane joined Sekhukhune on a season-long loan deal from the Buccaneers last season. This is after the 24-year-old had failed to establish himself in the starting line-up at the reigning Betway Premiership champions.
Mashiloane signed for the Buccaneers alongside his ex-Baroka teammate Kabelo Kgositsile in 2025.
However, Kgositsile was loaned back to Baroka and was part of the side that suffered relegation from the Motsepe Foundation Championship to the amateur ranks at the end of last season. While the winger was expected to complete his permanent switch to the Soweto giants this season, the club has yet to issue any official communication regarding his status.
Meanwhile, prior to his initial move to Sekhukhune United, Mashiloane featured in a handful of matches under coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
TSHEPO MASHIOLANE TO REMAIN AT SEKHUKHUNE UNITED FOR ANOTHER SEASON
In a statement on Wednesday, Sekhukhune confirmed that the former Baroka defender would be staying at the club for another season.
“Sekhukhune United Football Club is pleased to announce the extension of defender Tshepho Mashiloane’s loan from Orlando Pirates,” the club said.
“The 24-year-old returns to Babina Noko after an impressive 2025/26 campaign, where he made 17 appearances across all competitions, contributing two goals and two assists from defence.
“Having already demonstrated his quality and commitment during his time at the Club, his return provides further continuity and strength to the squad ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
At Sekhukhune, Mashiloane faced competition from the likes of Tsepo Matsimbi and Shaune Mogaila. With Matsimbi still recovering from his injury and Mogaila released, Mashiloane is expected to play a key role under new coach Cedric Kaze.
