Tanzanian powerhouse Young Africans SC have officially unveiled the new backroom team to assist newly appointed head coach Manqoba Mngqithi ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Barely ten days after handing the reins to the former Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns mentor, Yanga moved swiftly to assemble a strong, South African-dominated support structure in Dar es Salaam.
On Tuesday, 21 July, Yanga confirmed the arrival of experienced South African coach Simo Dladla, who steps in as Mngqithi’s assistant coach. “Welcome, assistant coach Simo Dladla,” reads the short statement from the club.
Dladla arrives in Dar es Salaam after officially parting ways with Betway Premiership side AmaZulu FC following the expiration of his contract.
During the 2025/26 season, Dladla served as the right-hand man to head coach Arthur Zwane at Usuthu. The duo enjoyed a solid campaign, steering the KwaZulu-Natal outfit to an impressive fourth-place finish in the South African top flight with 47 points from 30 matches.
Before his stint with AmaZulu, Dladla made headlines by successfully guiding Durban City FC to promotion back into the Betway Premiership.
KAGISHO DIKGACOI TAKES UP SET-PIECE ROLE AT YANGA SC
In another high-profile addition to the technical setup, former Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi has been appointed as Yanga’s set-piece coach. The ex-Crystal Palace and Fulham FC midfielder left Golden Arrows last month after his contract with Abafana Bes’thende was not renewed.
“Welcome to the jungle, set piece coach Kagisho Dikgacoi,” said the club in a statement.
Furthermore, Yardaan Valodia joins the Tanzanian champions as the tactical performance analyst. He forms part of the Yanga family after parting ways with Arrows.
GREG ETAFIA SET TO JOIN YANGA SC AS GOALKEEPER COACH
Furthermore, the East African giants are expected to round off Mngqithi’s backroom team with the addition of Greg Etafia as the new goalkeeper coach.
The former Nigerian international goalkeeper recently cut ties with Betway Premiership side TS Galaxy just a few days ago, clearing the path for his move to Yanga SC.
