Limpopo-based outfit Venda FC have announced seven new signings ahead of the 2026/27 Motsepe Foundation Championship season.
The side confirmed the new acquisitions on Saturday, 25 July, revealing a mix of experienced and solid local talent to bolster their squad in a bid to challenge for promotion to the Betway Premiership next season.
As reported by FARPost yesterday, headlining the arrivals is left-back Cameron Carnell, who joins from Betway Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United, alongside midfielder Donald Makgetlwa, who makes the switch from regional [Vhembe] rivals Black Leopards.
To further reinforce their defensive line, the Clinton Larsen-led side has snapped up centre-back Cohan Daniels, defender Goodman Chirwa [also from Black Leopards], and goalkeeper Bongani Mpandle from Upington City FC.
In attack, the club has added the Zimbabwean international striker Douglas Mapfumo and winger Stevens Goovadia, who brings valuable local knowledge, having previously turned out for both Polokwane City FC and Baroka FC.

In an official club statement, Venda FC made their ambitions clear for the upcoming campaign.
“The signings aim to strengthen key positions across the pitch, maintain a competitive edge in domestic competitions, and prepare the team for promotion to the Premier Soccer League next season. Fans can expect these players to play pivotal roles in the upcoming season,” reads the club statement.
With pre-season preparations underway, Venda FC supporters will be eager to see their new recruits in action as the club sets its sights firmly on the top flight.
The club will be in action today, participating in the pre-season Mafori Cup at Seshego Stadium, where they face Magesi FC at 11:00 AM.
Last season, Venda FC finished ninth in the Motsepe Foundation Championship log after gathering 36 points from 30 outings.
