Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC have roped in former Black Leopards midfielder Donald Makgetlwa ahead of the new season, FARPost can reveal.
The 29-year-old has signed for the Clinton Larsen-led outfit on a free transfer following the relegation of Lidoda Duvha from the South African second tier.
As a result of failing to avoid the axe in the second tier, Leopards will be competing in the SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League for the 2026/27 campaign.
Lidoda Duvha dropped down to the third tier after finishing 15th on the National First Division [NFD] standings, collecting 28 points from 30 matches last term.
This marks the second time Leopards have been relegated to the amateur ranks. Lidoda Duvha were initially relegated to the ABC Motsepe League at the end of the 2022/23 season, but quickly secured a lifeline by purchasing the Motsepe Foundation Championship status of All Stars in June 2023.
DONALD MAKGETLWAโS CONTRACT DETAILS AT VENDA FC
FARPost can confirm that Makgetlwa has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the Vhembe-based side, with an option to extend for another season.
Last season, Venda FC finished ninth in the Motsepe Foundation Championship log after gathering 36 points from 30 outings.
With the addition of Makgetlwa, who brings valuable experience from both the Betway Premiership and the second tier, the Limpopo club will be aiming to challenge for league honours or secure a place in the PSL Promotional/Relegation Play-offs.

Another player who is joining Venda FC from Leopards is Cameron Carnell, who plays as a left-back.
Furthermore, Venda FC are expected to announce their new additions in due course as they sharpen up ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The club will be in action on Saturday, 25 July, participating in the pre-season Mafori Cup at Seshego Stadium, where they face Magesi FC.
