Marshall Munetsi says he is ready to last the distance at Wolverhampton Wanderers this time around, even as uncertainty surrounds his future at the club after failing to cement his place before a loan stint.
The former Orlando Pirates star, Munetsi returned from a loan spell at Paris FC ahead of the 2026/27 season and has been a key figure in Wolves’ pre-season under Cesar Peixoto. At the French Ligue 1 side, he recorded four goals and one assist in 15 appearances.
On his return to his parent club, the 30-year-old insists he is happy at Wolves and wants to help take the club back to the Premier League. However, he was not drawn on what the future holds for him.
Munetsi feels he is returning to his best form and that he benefited greatly from his loan spell at Paris FC last season. He still has two years remaining on his contract at Wolves, which runs until June 2028.

Nottingham Forest and teams from the Saudi Pro League are said to have identified Munetsi as a target to bolster their midfield.
“At the moment, with the conversations I’ve had with the club [Wolves] and the management, they want to build a team, and I think the priority for me is to make sure that I also help the team,” Munetsi told the Express and Star.
“As long as they want me to be here, I’m happy to be here. This is the main priority, but above all, what is most important right now is to make sure that the club gets back to the Premier League.
“No matter who comes in, no matter who stays, that is the most important message that has come from the chairman [Nathan Shi], that the club has to go back. We all contributed to where we are today, so I think it’s also up to us to make sure we rectify those mistakes.”
The Zimbabwe Warriors vice-captain spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at Paris FC after finding his minutes limited under Gary O’Neil, who has since left the club.
The Zimbabwean was unable to help Wolves retain their Premier League status, but he has returned to Molineux with one target in mind: returning to the Premier League.
