Peter Shalulile has joined Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC, setting up another stint to work under Manqoba Mngqithi after the Namibian striker left Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of June.
The 32-year-old continues his club career in Tanzania after over a decade in South Africa, including six seasons at Sundowns. He first arrived in the PSL in 2015 when he signed for Highlands Park FC.
After falling out of favour with Masandawana coach Miguel Cardoso, Shalulile was released and joined Young Africans as a free agent. He would be hoping to revive his career at a club which recently appointed Mngqithi as their head coach.

Taking over from Portuguese tactician Pedro Goncalves, Mngqithi is at Young Africans, who have dominated Tanzanian football by winning five consecutive league titles, and now have a total of 32 league crowns.
It is a standard the former Sundowns and Golden Arrows coach has to maintain as he also leads Yanga into the CAF Champions League, a competition they are yet to win. Mngqithi has vast experience working in the Champions League as a backroom staffer and head coach at Sundowns.
He has in his war chest Shalulile, who also boasts of Champions League experience. The Namibia international has scored over 20 goals in nearly 60 Champions League matches.
For a player who is the PSL’s all-time top goal-scorer, Shalulile has a point to prove at Yanga that he is not yet a spent force. He is expected to make his official Yanga debut on August 15 when they open the 2026/27 Tanzanian Premier League campaign against Namungo FC away.
A player with a big-match temperament, Shalulile would be relishing featuring in the Kariakoo Derby against arch-rivals Simba SC. The Tanzanian heavyweights clash on August 12 in the Community Shield, a curtain-raiser to the season.
