Betway Premiership outfit Chippa United have secured the services of midfielder Goodman Mosele on a permanent deal from Orlando Pirates.
In a statement released on Thursday night, the Gqeberha-based side also confirmed that the 26-year-old midfielder will captain the Chilli Boys for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.
Mosele spent the previous campaign on loan at Chippa, establishing himself as an integral figure in central midfield and earning high praise for his consistent performances.
Last season, Mosele featured in 30 games across all competitions for Chippa and contributed one assist. He played an important role in helping Chippa survive relegation on the last day of the last campaign. The club finished in position 13 with 28 points after 30 games.

The Eastern Cape club expressed their delight to have roped in the former PSL Young Player of the Season on a permanent deal.
“The River has found its course. Now it leads the way,” reads the statement from Chippa. “Goodman Mosele is officially a permanent Chilli Boy and our captain for the 2026/27 season.”

Mosele first joined Pirates in July 2021 from Baroka FC, where his initial rise earned him national recognition, including a spot in South Africa’s 2021 Olympic squad.
However, intense competition in the Buccaneers’ midfield saw Mosele seek regular game time via loan spells at Chippa.
Having officially left the Sea Robbers, Mosele transitions into a core leadership role as the Chilli Boys look to build a formidable squad for the new Betway Premiership season.
Chippa’s first game of the season will be away to Golden Arrows on Saturday, 1 August, at King Zwelithini Stadium. Kick off is scheduled for 15:00.
